$2.6 Million Dollars – Evansville, Indiana – Product Liability Claim – Tabletop Fireplace

Our client was a house guest visiting friends. While sitting outside around a table, a tabletop fireplace, fueled by rubbing alcohol, was being refilled. Upon the rubbing alcohol being poured into the tabletop fireplace, an explosion occurred causing serious burn injuries to client’s upper extremities and face. $2.0 Million – Henderson County, Kentucky – Auto Wrongful Death

Female riding as a passenger in a vehicle was killed when the vehicle left the road, hit an earth embankment, and then collided with a tree. Lawsuit was filed. Settlement details are subject to a strict confidentiality. Travis Holtrey was lead counsel on the case representing the estate and the family members.

$1.3 Million – Henderson County, Kentucky – Auto Wrongful Death

Husband and wife were proceeding down a two-lane road. Wife was operating the vehicle. Wife had a medical episode and blacked out, causing the vehicle to exit the roadway, striking a tree and fence. Husband was taken by ambulance to hospital where he later passed away. Our firm handled the estate matters which were complicated as well as navigating a difficult wrongful death action. Davin L. $1.3 Million Settlement – Hancock County, Kentucky – Commercial Trucking Case

Case is subject to strict confidentiality agreement. In this case a passenger in a semi-tractor trailer suffered tremendous burn and crash injuries. Passenger had signed a liability waiver in favor of the trucking company. Despite the waiver of liability, the case settled shortly before trial at mediation. Lead Attorney: Travis L. $2.7 Million settlement (Plus $1 Million in worker’s compensation benefits) – Georgetown, Kentucky – Commercial Trucking Case

This case was resolved in federal court after lengthy mediation. Case involved three commercial vehicles, 1 driver was killed, and 1 driver suffered disabling orthopedic and neurologic injuries as well as loss of lower extremities. The attorney who handled this case was Travis L. Holtrey.

$2.1 Million settlement – Western Kentucky – Premises Liability

Fifty-one-year-old male killed in a fire at a hunting lodge offering overnight accommodations. Facility had no fire alarms or smoke detectors. Rooms had no alternative egress to outside because windows were welded shut. This case settled at mediation.

$2 Million (Plus $800,000.00 Worker’s Compensation Award) – Owensboro, Kentucky – Industrial Accident

This case is subject to a strict confidentiality provision. It was an industrial accident wrongful death case which involved a fall from an elevated walkway. There were five separate defendants named in this case which settled at mediation in Louisville, Kentucky. This case was handled by Travis Holtrey, Lead, and Tyler Johnson, Assistant Counsel.

$1,960,000.00 – Daviess County, Kentucky – Commercial Trucking Wrongful Death

Truck driver proceeded more than a half mile up the road before stopping and had no idea a wreck had occurred. Driver claims to have suffered a medical event and claims no memory of the wreck. Client required two complex spinal surgeries. This case did not have to be filed in Court once the reconstruction was performed and the black box, (Electronic Data Recorder) was downloaded. $1,925,657.78 – Daviess County, Kentucky – UTV Side By Side

UTV collided with another vehicle on a rural road in Daviess County, Kentucky. This case resolved pre-suit and was primarily handled by attorney Tyler H. Johnson.

$1.6 Million – McLean County, Kentucky – Motorcycle Wreck

A utility truck failed to observe traffic control device at intersection. This case resolved after a mediation in Louisville, Kentucky. The attorneys who handled this case were Travis L. Holtrey and Tyler H. Johnson.

$1.3 Million – McLean County, Kentucky – Car Wreck – Passenger rendered a paraplegic

This case was referred to Travis Holtrey by an attorney from Owensboro, Kentucky. Insurance company initially refused to disclose a catastrophic injury policy. A lawsuit was filed claiming bad faith and negligence. After this case settled, a medical malpractice case was filed in Nashville, Tennessee for negligent medical treatment. The medical malpractice case settled for $875,000.00.

$1.1 Million – Union County, Kentucky – Defective Elevator – Death of Minor

This tragic case occurred in Union County, Kentucky. The attorneys who handled this case were Travis L. Holtrey and Tyler H. Johnson. The damages for this case justified a verdict for exceeding the insurance which existed to cover the loss. The $100,000 over the settlement amount was used to start a scholarship fund.

Case was settled after filing a complaint in Carroll County, Kentucky. During discovery the case settled because of documents that were found verifying the trucking company was altering its drivers’ logs. Travis L. Holtrey was the attorney who handled this case.

Negligent laparoscopic cholecystectomy performed, leading to sepsis and death of patient. Travis L. Holtrey was the attorney who handled this case. This was Mr. Holtrey’s first medical negligence case in his career.

$900,000 – Ohio County, Kentucky – Medical Malpractice for failure to treat Diabetes

In this case, a clients Primary Care Provider failed to provide baseline care and treatment for a Type II Diabetes patient. Travis L. Holtrey handled the case, and it was settled one week prior to trial.

$850,000 settlement in a medical malpractice case for failure to treat an infection.
