Coal Mining – Kentucky’s Love Hate Relationship

Despite the number of coal mining tragedies we hear reported, it is estimated that more than 85% of operating coal mines in the United States have major regulatory violations upon inspection. Foreman Watson Holtrey is currently litigating a coal mine death case in which the Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA) issued numerous citations for violations of safety regulations. Kentucky is very dependent on the caol industry, but Kentucky’s workers cannot afford to be subjected to unneccessary risks and hazards each day they report to work.
