“I was bit by my neighbor’s dog! What are my legal rights and do I even need an attorney in this situation?”
Believe it or not, I get asked this question quite often. Kentucky has a dog bite statute that allows you to recover damages from the dog owner. You can recover medical bills, wage loss, pain and suffering, and other possible damages. You should seek the guidance of an attorney. Make sure to ask him/her how many dog bite cases he/she has litigated. I have personally tried two dog bite cases to a jury. I have settled approximately 10-15 of these cases in my career.
